Not only tasks, but also advantages...
During the six weeks you will spend in Cascais you will have also a training at the beginning, a language course (portuguese...obviously ; ) ), a cultural and social programme and mentoring to profit from a rich intercultural group learning process and to have a life learning opportunity nd a chance for personal and social development!
Your tasks?...Here they are!
The main objectives of this project are:
-to contribute for the wellbeing and safety of beach shores in the council;
-to promote a better use of the space and prevent risk situations;
-to create awareness to topics such as environmental issues;
-Provide information related with tourism, environmental, public health and others related with municipal issues;
-Promote a healthy occupation of youth's spare time, mobilizing them towards community support and service;
Promote European citizenship and the values that lay behind it like democracy, respect, active citizenship and freedom of speech and religion.

And now let's go deeper into..."Sea Beyond"
This EVS project was born from Cascais City Council annual project for Portuguese youngsters: since 1999 Cascais City Council develops annualy the project "Maré Viva" to have youngsters supporting beaches in Cascais and it has been a huge success among local youngsters.
In 2008, Rota Jovem contacted the people responsible forthe youth department in the municipality and proposed to create "Sea Beyond" (...here we are ; ) )as a joint effort to bring to this project an intercultural aspect, joining international youngsters with the Portuguese volunteers!

Rota Jovem: Who?What?Where?When?Why?
WHO ARE WE?
-Rota Jovem is a non-profitable Youth Association founded in 1992 and based in Cascais, which promotes and supports activities for young people
-it's an open door to new and original projects
-offers young people the opportunity to develop and implements their ideas and dreams with the support of an organization
-our members are over 1200, mainly youngsters between 16 and 30 years old
ACTIVITIES:
-EcoAdventures – Weekend activities in the area of sports, adventure, environment and culture
-Photography competitions
-Clean Up the World – environmental campaign
-World Youth Festiva
-Workshops- Creativity, Interculturality, Internet, Arts..
